Why is this offensive

I was reading an article on ESPN.com about a former NBA player, turned CBA coach who is being suspended for his "anti-semitic" comments.

Before Tuesdays game against the Yakima Sun Kings, Richardson made anti-Semitic comments to two reporters in his office when discussing the contract general manager Jim Coyne had offered him Monday to coach his team in the CBA and USBL.

"I've got big-time lawyers," Richardson said, according to the Times Union. "I've got big-time Jew lawyers."

When told by the reporters that the comment could be offensive to people because it plays to the stereotype that Jews are crafty and shrewd, he responded with, "Are you kidding me? They are. They've got the best security system in the world. Have you ever been to an airport in Tel Aviv? They're real crafty. Listen, they are hated all over the world, so they've got to be crafty."

And he continued, "They got a lot of power in this world, you know what I mean?" he said. "Which I think is great. I don't think there's nothing wrong with it. If you look in most professional sports, they're run by Jewish people. If you look at a lot of most successful corporations and stuff, more businesses, they're run by Jewish. It's not a knock, but they are some crafty people."

Maybe it's just me but as a Jew I wasn't insulted at all, so he said we're a crafty group of people, and that's supposed to hurt my feeling??

The world is getting to PC when you can't even compliment people, albeit using a stereotype, without getting suspended.

A big no-no

I should know better, not sure what I was thinking.
I was watching the Pistons - Nuggets game this evening, the Pistons were down 3 with a second left, they had no Time-outs and Denver had the ball. I turned the game off, and went to watch TV in bed.

I was watching some show with Nat, and during the commercial I started flipping channels, and happened to flip to FSN, and saw the game was in OT. I showed no bitachon in the 'Stones, and missed a great end to regulation. I had to wait until after the game to see the highlight of the steal then 'Sheed nailing a 3/4 court shot to send it to OT.

This afternoon I got a notice from my computer that it was infected with terrible virus, and I should click on the icon - which would download the latest spyware detection program. Always teh obedient one, I clicked on the icon, and next thing I knew, spy-sheriff opened on my computer, ran a quick scan and found 199 high risk adware's. Next I clicked on the button for fixing the problems. In order for this program to actually do me any good, I would have to buy it.

I already have a ad aware on my computer, so I ran that to see if it found the same issues - it didn't. It came up with the same 24 issues it always finds. Next I ran Norton, which interestingly found one problem, and it was the spy sheriff program, which it deleted, and now everything is fine.

a little pathetic

I know last year was the first time in many many years that the Tigers didn't suck, but it's a bit sad that FSN (fox sports net) is still replaying the playoffs from last season, although they conveniently aren't showing the World Series games.

Not only do they have the game,s they are replaying teh pre and post game shows...They are really running out programming ideas.

I wonder if the St. Louis FSN is showing the Cardinals playoff run..Somehow I doubt it, perhaps they know how to act like they've been there before.

Parking

For those who don't know, I live in an area where you are allowed to park your car in most case for free. Businesses have parking lots, house have driveways and there isn't a parking meter to be found.

I mention this because last night I had to go to Ann Arbor for a few hours, and I realized when I got there that I had no change, and therefore nowhere to park. The parking structures in the area didn't take credit cards, so I went looking for an ATM. I finally found the ATM and discovered that I didn't have my card with me.

Then I remembered that I have a cousin who goes to U-M, and I called him and asked to bail me out and hook me up with five bucks. Lucky for me he answered his phone and got me some much needed cash.

The whole idea of paying to leave your car on the street bothers me, at least in a garage, there is a guard and a card you need to leave...What protection do I get from a meter that they can charge me????

Not thrilled with Madden today

I'm a little annoyed with Madden since my last post, when I was coming off my first victory
Officially, my record in Madden is 6-16, but it should be much better

When you are playing someone and their computer disconnects, you have three options
1. Continue the game against the computer
2. Quit the game (Mercy) there is no win or loss for you or your opponent
3. Quit the game (Non-Mercy) all your stats and rankings count and your opponent gets a loss. You do not receive.

Which brings me to my record, I should be 7-1 in my past 8 games, somehow I am 3-3 with two no decisions. I'm not sure why it is, but when you continue against the computer, you get a loss. This happened to me twice. I kept playing, beat the computer, and for some reason, which I have yet to discover, was dealt a loss. Both those game I was up when my opponent cowardly pulled the plug. That's 2 win's that actually turned into losses.

Two of my wins turned into No Decisions because of the disconnect, I learned my lesson, and didn't finish the game.

I did lose one game 41-14, I don't want to blame to make excuses, but the game was tied at 14 going into the half, and then Jonah came home, and annoyed me the entire second half. Also the guy I played is ranked 25 (I'm still a 1) and won over 800 games. So odds are good that I would have lost that game anyways.

Two of my losses earlier in the season were also annoying, but my fault. I was playing, or going to play, against a FRIEND of mine, and before the coin toss, it froze and said my disk was damaged. So we restarted and tried again, got the same results. My friend gave me losses (non mercy quits) both times. So thats 2 losses without even starting the game.

I guess I can take solace in the fact that I know I'm better than the record (probably the best 6-16 team out there ) I just wish my record would show that I should be (in games I actually played) around 10-12 - I think thats right. Anyways thats my madden rant for the day.

is air free?

It was pointed out to me the other that I needed to put air in 2 of my tires. I stopped by a few gas stations and they were charging 25 or 50 cents for some air. I had no change on me, so I kept driving.

I stopped in at a Speedway, and their air machine had a coin slot that said .75. Then it said, for free air see cashier. So I went in, wondering what I would have to do to get air for free. I asked the cashier and he told me to to just go and turn it on.

This made me wonder, do they charge the people who are just to lazy to walk in and see how much the air costs?
