So sad

After threatening us for months that they were going, the AP's took of to Israel for six months of learning. Saturday night was the official godobye party, the Natalie shed a few tears, just thinking about them leaving, Adina cried when we left, hoping that we all dont forget them in the next six month, Jonah cried, possibly because his girlfriend is leaving, or just maybe he had a dirty diaper.

When you look at the big picture, they arent going away for that long, basically they are taking a big vacation, thy will have a local phone number, and a webcam, so its not liek we'll go 6 mos, without seeing or talking to them. As Tom Cruise says in A Few Good Men " Six month is nothing..its a Hockey season" (Obviously that movie wasnt talking about this season, which doesnt exsist)

I'm not saying its not sad that they are gone. because it is sad , thats 24 Tuesdays night basketball games he'll miss, some shabbos meals, fun times and all that good stuff, but they will be back.

The question is will they come back the same or will Israel change AP the way it has changed so many of my friends? Only time will tell on that one. Aaron doenst think he will change
"you cant teach an old dog new tricks" but these Yeshivas specialize in brainwashing,

Of course even sad things have some good that come out of it, and in thh case of the Pergie's leaving town, its that they were kind nough to lend us their car for the duration of teir trip, and Jonah has a new (for him) baby einstein toy to play with.

In closing, iu would like t wish the AP'S all the luck in the world, I hope Israel is a good experience for them, but that they come back home, as they promised,

tastes like chicken

Today was a day that could have been remembered for many things
1. After a big snowstorm, I walked home from shul with Arye, my oldest brother, and he didn't attempt to knock me down in the snow. He said it was because he respected to much.
2. It was my 24th birthday, and I had a group of friends over
3. Instead it will be remembered as the day I ate Jonah's spit up.

Before you judge me let m explain how this isn't entirely my fault.
After the birthday cake was brought out, I know I sound like I’m 12, I blew out all 24 candles and then licked the ice cream of the bottom of each candle. In the middle of my candle cleaning, Evan pointed out that I had something on my sweater. i looked down, and I saw a small white glob, assuming it was ice cream, i decided to clean off my shirt. Right after i licked my sweater clean, i knew it wasn't ice cream!! It was warm and chewy and didn’t taste very good. Had someone at the table not mentioned that it might be spit up, I never would have thought of it. I hadn't held Jonah in a while, and there wasn't a lot on my shirt. Once it came up though, I realized that it must be spit up, cuz it certainly wasn't Ice Cream. In case you were wondering, I didn't swallow the spuge, I spit it right out.

Just one of those days

Today was one of those days, the kind of day where you don’t get dressed until 7 o'clock, and only then because you go out to eat dinner, The kind of day where things don’t go your way.

Everything started out great, I woke up a little after 9, Jonah was still sleeping, and as far as I was concerned he slept through the night. Nat doesn’t remember that night, she claims he cried at around 3 or 4, but like they say, if a tree falls and no one is around does it make a noise?

Anyway, Nat left the house this morning at around 9:45, and wasn’t supposed to be home until after five, which meant I was spending the whole day with the kid, and no car, at home.

Around 11:50 Nat called from the road, she was having car trouble, would it be possible for me to somehow help her out, as i mentioned before i had no car, so i would have to find a car and go out to where she was and help out. I put Jonah down on the couch in his boppy pillow, and he wasn’t exactly thrilled about it, so he started whining, but I chose to allow him to whine, while I went in search of my cell phone, so I could call someone with a car to help out Nat.

I couldn't find my cell phone, so I went back to the living room, where Jonah was on the couch, or least that’s where he was when I left the room, when I came back, he was on the floor, on his stomach, bleeding like crazy from his head, OK i made up that last part, he was on the floor, crying a little bit, around one of his toys. I wasn't there so I can’t say for sure, but I think he wanted his toys so badly that he decided it was worth the fall. Nothing broke, he didn’t even get a scratch, but he was whiny all day long. Which of course made for a long and not so much fun day? I did get in two games of XBOX basketball, both of which I won, and saw one bad movie on HBO, but everything was interrupted by the boy.

Finally Natalie came home from work, and decided that we should do dinner with our friends AP and Adina, since they are leaving us for six months, we ordered Pizza and spent the evening with them. The only downside to going out, was it meant I had to put on some clothes, so finally at around 7:10 PM I got dressed, and went outside.

Just so you know I'm not a total bum, I do have a job, but it doesn’t start for another couple of weeks, till then, I only work a few days a week at the Pizza shop. But that’s another story for another blog.....
Good Night all
